Mesothelioma Information
The most serious of all asbestos- related diseases. It is a form of cancer where the malignant cells are located in the sac lining of the lung (pleura) or abdomen (peritoneum). It can take many years after exposure to asbestos before the disease appears. At this time there are treatments, but no known cure, for mesothelioma.

Who is at Risk? Construction Worker

Who's at Risk?

Those working in jobs where asbestos products have been used. . .

Are Others Subject to Asbestos Risks?

Unfortunately, yes.

The above is not meant to be an exclusive list of people who have been subjected to asbestos risks.  If you are working in an older building where construction is going on, or living in a house that is being remodeled, you should make sure an asbestos risk assessment has been done, or that the structure has been subjected to an assessment sampling.

Many people have been diagnosed with an asbestos disease that did not use the products themselves, but were around others who did. Many people have been exposed to asbestos fibers that have not worked in any type of construction trade. For example, we have represented school employees (a teacher and a secretary) with mesothelioma caused by exposure to asbestos while they were at school.

We have also represented victims exposed to asbestos while performing home repairs of holes or cracks in drywall using products sold at local stores. Recently we represented a housewife in an asbestos lawsuit who died from mesothelioma after being exposed to asbestos from washing her husband’s work clothes.

If you have been exposed to asbestos fibers, you should consult a doctor, especially if you have any asbestosis symptoms. If you have been diagnosed with asbestosis, mesothelioma, or lung cancer related to inhalation of asbestos fibers, contact us immediately, so that we can begin protecting your rights.
